4-H Summer Camps

Tennessee 4-H summer camps offer unforgettable experiences that combine fun, learning, and adventure. Youth can enjoy classic Junior and Junior High camps filled with swimming, ziplining, and campfire traditions, or choose from specialty camps designed around specific interests. From hands-on STEM and robotics at Electric Camp, outdoor exploration at OWLS Camp, and shooting sports at Target SMART, to Academic Conference for those eager to dive deeper into their project areas—there’s a camp for every curiosity. Summer Camp Options

Junior 4-H Camp is for youth in grades 4-6. This five-day resident camp is available at Lone Oaks Farm 4-H Center and offers general programming. Activities include swimming, shooting sports, basketball, soccer, fishing, nature hikes, leather craft and woodworking, T-shirt airbrushing, skits, singing, and more.

Junior High 4‑H Adventure Camp is an exciting overnight experience for youth in grades 7–8 who are ready for adventure! Campers enjoy hands-on, action-packed activities that build personal growth, teamwork, and leadership. Adventures may include canoeing, fishing, swimming, nature hikes, shooting sports, T-shirt airbrushing, and survivor-style games. Each activity is designed to spark confidence, independence, and connection, all while having fun and making lasting friendships. 4-H Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity. You will explore the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences in fun-filled, “hands-on” learning activities.

You will work with electrical specialists from across the state in learning centers. Each learning center will consist of hands-on activities to learn by doing. You will also have the chance to meet other 4-H’ers from across Tennessee and explore careers in energy, electricity, and basic sciences. Target Smart Camp is designed for youth interested in learning the fundamentals of shooting sports in a safe, supportive environment. Campers receive hands-on instruction in proper safety, correct form, and responsible handling while exploring disciplines such as archery, riflery, shotgun, and muzzle-loading. Led by certified instructors, this camp emphasizes confidence, focus, and skill development while promoting respect, discipline, and teamwork. Whether new to shooting sports or looking to sharpen their skills, campers will gain valuable knowledge and experience along the way. O.W.L.S. Camp is perfect for youth who love the outdoors and being active in nature. Campers spend their days hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and working on meaningful service projects. Culinary U Camp is a two-day cooking adventure packed with creativity, flavor, and fun! Campers get hands-on in the kitchen as they prepare and enjoy their own meals and desserts while learning essential cooking skills. From beginners to returning chefs, everyone will gain confidence, try new techniques, and have a great time cooking alongside friends and experienced instructors. Jr. Master Gardener Plant Camp is a hands-on, nature-focused camp hosted each June by the Memphis Area Master Gardeners. Designed for youth ages 8–11 (entering grades 3–6), this camp introduces participants to the exciting world of plants while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love for nature. Campers enjoy daily hands-on projects, educational games and discussions, on-site field trips, make-and-take activities, and themed snacks. All in a fun, engaging environment! Each camper receives a camp T-shirt to take home.

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am-12pm. Enrollment is limited to 30 campers. Registration starts in April!
